Etched Cutting Board

Image
Cutting Board: A friend gave me a gift earlier this year of a super cute cutting board for limes because she knows I LOVE Margaritas.  The gift was perfect and I knew I wanted to try something like that in the future.   Our school Mother's Club had a Social and requested raffle items. I saw as an opportunity to try etching a cutting board.  I had fun designing and creating this fun cutting board to be used at a tailgate.   Laser cutting is so fun and versatile.  So far I've experimented with cutting out wood shapes, cutting out fabric, now etching wood.  Truly so many ways to be creative.   I enjoyed putting together this Raffle item. I included a pair of earrings I made along with a pennant to add to the school spirit! I hope someone was excited to win this project I made. I wasn't able to attend the event due to work travel but at least I participated from afar through submitting this item to help raise money for Mother's Club.

Personalized Pennants: "Go Fight Win!"

PENNANTS:  As I scroll on Pinterest I just love all of the custom pennants that are popular right now.  During this Labor Day holiday weekend we had minimal commitments so I decided to fill my time crafting and make some for myself.  I think my favorite use for these cute decor items is seeing them as accents on front door boxwood wreaths.  I think they turned out cute and look forward to seeing how I can add additional details to personalize them.   Felt:  You can't go wrong with a traditional felt pennant.  Wood Cutouts:  I loved the rigidity of painting & decorating the wood pennant cutouts.  If you are interested in purchasing these buntings, please see my SHOP DECOR page.

Buntings | Team Spirit Door Decor

BUNTINGS I must be into wreath decor ideas lately.  I think it is mostly because of the start of the school year and the change of season is upon us.  I'm a sucker for new seasonal decor ideas, especially when I feel like they give me the instant visual gratification I am sometimes longing for.  Honestly, I'm really into the boxwood wreath and the versatility you have with adding accents for any occasion.   The below items are cutout of 1/8 wood and accented with fabric & ribbon. Team Swag (Earrings)

NEW SCHOOL YEAR / NEW SWAG  |  Earrings (part 1) Crafting projects come in waves. As another school year approached I wanted to have some new high school sports swag for myself and gift some items to some friends.  All girls can use some new earrings and I have some deserving friends.  I decided to try some new mediums and work with a laser cutter.   I'm proud to belong to the Catholic High School community in Eastern Kansas.  My son & his friends from grade school have split up across several schools in the area so making some designs that fit each one of my good 'mom friends' was fun.  Crafting has always been personal therapy for me and thinking about my son being a Junior, well I needed some craft time to digest and get excited for the year rather than thinking about how fast the time was flying by. If you are interested in purchasing any of my earrings, I have extras to sell for $10.00 each + shipping; or if local (Johnson County) we can ...

About Me

Image
Welcome to Little Journey Designs, my name is Janet and I'm a wife and mom of 2 kids.  For as long as I can remember, I've always loved to craft, draw, paint, sew, bead and so much more.  I enjoy learning new things and and I spend way too much time on Pinterest dreaming of things I'd like to do.   My blog’s name, Little Journey, has multiple meanings. First, when I was a kid, my younger sister couldn’t say ‘Janet’ and she would call me ‘Journey’.   So, to my immediate family, I’m known as Journey. I also realized that my crafting evolves and expands with each little journey in life.   There has been a crafting evolution for me which began many years ago when I was in the “Busy Bee” 4-H club in elementary school.   Then there was college sorority life, to living on my own, to making gifts for others,   wedding planning and now kid & family crafts.
